And some general DP "stuff"!
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
I know what you're thinking."Mike, can we see some new Pokémon?"
The answer chilblains, is "of course you can".
Our first new friend is called Bippa. He's a Round Mouse Pokémon and is a normal type. He can have one of two natures - Natural, which means Bippa will always attack against Pokémon with a higher "status", or Simplicity, which can improve the power of any items Bippa is holding. It can learn Tackle, which isn't very shocking for a normal type.
Next is Korinku. It's a Flash Pokémon and is an electric type. He can have one of two natures - Intimidate, which is old and boring, or Belligerence, which improves attack power when the opponent is of the same gender as the user. It learns Spark.
Meet Masukippa. He's a Fly Catcher Pokémon, is a grass type, has the ability Levitate and will probably be giving me nightmares tonight. It can learn Vine Whip.
Next is Minomucchi. It's a Bagworm Pokémon and is a bug type. It has an ability of the Shed Skin variety and can learn Protect.
Pinpuku, as shown a week or so ago, is a Pretend Pokémon, and is the pre-evolution of Chansey. It's still a normal type, has the abilities Natural Cure or Serene Grace, and can learn Charm.
Subomi. Pre-evolution of Roselia, a Flowerbud Pokémon, Grass/Poison typed and with the same abilites as Roselia - Natural Cure and Poison Point. It learns Mega Drain.
Our next new friend is Tatetopusu. It's a Shield Pokémon It's Rock/Steel and has the ability Sturdy. It can learn Ancientpower and a new attack called Metal Burst, which works similarly to Counter. It is obtained from a fossil.
Our last new conquest-to-be is Zugaidosu. He's a Headbutting Pokémon of the Rock type and has the ability Unconventional, which basically stops the opponent's ability from working. It can learn Take Down and a new attack called Double Headbutt, which works similarly to Double-Edge. It is also obtained from a fossil.
I'm sure you'll also be pleased to know there's some additional information about some 'mon we've already met:
Korobooshi, the supposed pre-evolution of Volbeat, is a Grasshopper Pokémon and a bug type. It has the Shed Skin ability.
Mukkuru, the Pidgey/Taillow wannabe, is a Gray Starling Pokémon and a normal/flying type. It has the Keen Eye ability.
And finally, a few pieces of general information:
- The above image shows two new Pokéballs - the one on the left is the Health Ball, which heals the HP of a Pokémon after it is caught. The one on the right is the Dark Ball, which makes it easier to capture Pokémon in dark places, such as in a cave, at night, or even better, in a cave at night.
- The first Gym Leader is called Hyouta. He resides in Kurogane City, gives out the Coal Badge and uses ground type Pokémon.
- The leader of Team Galaxy has the very unusual name, Mars. I wonder if this means he'll get eaten during the story?
- Diaruga, the legendary from Diamond is Steel/Dragon.
- Parukia, the legendary from Pearl, is Water/Dragon.
- When connecting to a single DS, you get taken to a Union Room where trades and battles take place. You can also still compete against your friends in contests and the Battle Tower.
- When connecting to people on the other side of the world using a wi-fi connection, you access a seperate Union Room, which does pretty much exactly the same thing.
- The start of the game sees you viewing a rare, legendary Pokémon by the lake in Futaba Town, and returning a lost briefcase to Professor Nanakamondo. He gives you your first Pokémon as a reward.
I think that's about it. I'm sure you're all desperate to discuss such important matters, like the new Pokémon, the new abilites and attacks, and Manchester United being top of the table, so who am I to stop you?
