An report of the 10th year Pokémon event in the land of sheep, menskirts and strange accents.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Another one of our members, Claire, username Lorelei who even more confusingly went dressed as Steven Stone has sent us a report of the Glasgow event. Assumingly in Scotland with her friend 'Paul'.

Yawn. Twelve minutes past nine, and Claire departs from the train station on the journey that will take her to the Glasgow leg of the POKEYMAN 10th anniversary tour!

Claire also likes to talk about herself in the third person.

ANYWAY.

My friend 'Paul' and I got there about ten o'clock, so it was still quite quiet at that point. And not being ones to mess around, we were straight in the queue for downloads! First off I got myself a Ho-oh, which I was quite happy with, although during the course of the day I ended up getting the rest of them just for the sake of it. And since I'm such a kind, generous soul, I even traded my freshly caught Groudon from Emerald to a youngster who needed one to complete his Pokedex. I've got a ton of them anyway. Although he also managed to swindle me out of my precious Metagross called Steven. *sniffle* Curse me for being so nice!

...what? I can be nice!

After we had gotten out initial downloads out of the way, it was time for me to unleash my secret weapon- THE STEVEN STONE OUTFIT. Complete with sparkly armbands...

...and which turned out to be a complete bust. What is it with kids these days?! Don't they know their great POKEYMAN characters?! *tuts* The only person who even commented on it thought I was dressed as a Team Rocket member. Team Rocket...? TEAM ROCKET?!

IDIOTS!

Well, hopefully the internet with supply me with a more appreciative audience. Bow down to me! WORSHIP MY JACKET!

(Incidentally, when 'Paul' told him who I was dressed as, his reaction was "But Steven's a man!" O RLY KID? I had no idea.)

*ahem* Anyway, moving on... since I'm lame and left all my good Pokemon at home on Pokemon Box, it was up to 'Paul' to defend our collective battling honour. Funnily enough, by battling the same upstart who doesn't know who Steven blimmin' Stone is.

He lost. *cry* Rather unlucky though, I have to say. And he left before we could bully him into a rematch, the coward. YOU BETTER RUN, BOY!

Lessee, what else... oh yeh! I was quite intrigued by the trading figure game that was being demonstrated. Not really so much by the game itself, but more the actual figures; they're really, REALLY nice, and I have to admit I was surprised at how well made they are. As if I need more things to waste my money on... but they're so pwetty!

I wanted to colour in a piccyture, but I was too old.

It did get progressively busier as the day went on, 'Paul' and I finally deciding to call it a day at about three, having been there for a good five hours. The download station was, naturally, the main attraction, but the queue wasn't actually too bad, with people being allowed to download two or three pokemon at a time.

If I had one criticism of it, it's that it was just too damn small- it definitely needed to be spaced out more, especially at the busiest times when there literally wasn't room to swing a Meowth, although this is probably more of an issue with the Buchanan Galleries than anything else. *shakes fist*

Although of course, one of the benefits of being older and bigger than most of the people there was that I could just shove 'em out the way, bwahahaha.

Hm. Not sure what else to say, really. The demos of Link! and Mystery Dungeon seemed pretty popular, but since I already have these games anyway I didn't really bother with it. And it'd have been nice if some of the merchandise that they had on display was for sale, rather than just there to make the likes of myself drool. I wanted that Skitty doll, dagnabbit!

I suppose that's about it, really. Bring on the Mystery Dungeon Mew Event! [/wishfulthinking]
