Angelic Lapras King, Mushroom and Sappy report!... two days ago

Angelic Lapras King

June 2nd 2007. The day when the UK got Manaphy! Well, the egg anyway for now, but for lucky D/P owners, a Manaphy awaits you. This was my round up of the events that occared when I went to my local Game in Chatham Kent to get my Manaphy Egg.

8:15am- Got up, got dressed and left to catch the bus, armed with my DS Lite and Pokemon Ranger game.

8:45am- Arrived at the shopping centre and waited 15 mins outside Game, waiting for it to open. There was only me, some other fellow Manaphy hunters and other shoppers not giving a damn about it. I even got to watch the countdown thingy go down to zero as I waited (Which once it gets to zero, the words "OUT NOW" appear, which I thought was clever of it doing that by itself)

9:00am- Game opened. Being the first one in, I asked the guy instore for Manaphy, in which he went out in the back, brought out the Box of Chocolate Pokeballs and gave me one (Yum! =D). Strangly, he didnt ask to see my DS Lite or copy of Ranger. o.o While I was there, I preordered D/P too. No sign of a free poster though. =0

9:05am- Entered code. Decided to do the mission when I got home.

9:15am- Went to local card shop and for the heck of it, brought a pack of the new D/P set he imported FROM AMERICA! =D Didnt get too many 4th Gen Pokes though. Only Lopunny (As my rare), Prinplup and a shiny Turtwig. The others were older Pokes and the usual Energy and Trainer cards.

10:00am- Got home, ate the chocolate Pokeball (Which was yummy =D) and complete the mission, which wasnt all that hard. All that remains now is my long wait for D/P to get good old Manaphy! ^^

Didnt take the camera, because I thought it might seem...odd. o.o

Maybe Nintendo had it all planned out when they decided to put the “Manaphy Day” event on the same day as Psythor’s birthday. But I very much doubt it. Let me explain what happened.

I went along, expecting there to be loads of publicity for the event. You know, like signs and the like. Unfortunately this was not to be, there was nothing saying that it was happening. Also, the closest thing to another Pokémon fan in the shop was my sister. No-one else. OK, maybe this is because I just went to my local Game, maybe it’s a result of there not being any publicity about it, maybe Manaphy isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, or maybe everyone just read it on the internet and didn’t bother to come. My vote’s for the last one.

So, I went up to the counter and asked for the Manaphy code. I had to a little bit of convincing to get my hands on it too, as I don’t own Pokémon Ranger and they are only meant to give it to people who have the game. I finally managed to get them to give me the code after threatening to publicise the currpotion of Game over the internet (may not be entirely true). I think that my t-shirt helped persuade them too.

For my troubles I was given a bag that contained a poster advertising Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, a booklet trying to get me to pre-order Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and a small blue box covered in Ranger art. This blue box is what all the fuss was about. Inside the box was a piece of paper telling you how to obtain the Manaphy egg and a Pokéball made entirely of Chocolate. I was hoping that the code would be inside the ball, fortune cookie style, but that was not to be. If you’re wondering, no, the chocolate wasn’t that nice, but hey, what do you expect for a freebie?

Sappy

Welcome to my 3rd event, the Manaphy Event, where odd people like you and I get the code for manaphy as well as a chocolate pokeball I'm eating now. So yeah, so I'm suppose to report these things at Bristol, I've also added all the misc photos in with it..

Now. oddly enough no stool stands etc, so time to join the queue.

Note this photo was not exactly taken from the time I joined the queue, but in Midday when it was packed. So I talked to the Game assistant saying I had to pre-order D/P to get the egg, so I said no. Like... Come on...

That stand doesn't make it too attractive, right? Especially when they don't have a back cover =P. Its not like they're obsessed with it lately with this...

Time to get onto the real story of the event now. Okay so I met Sean via Union Room. Chatroom style =P

My Diamond: Sean has entered the Union Room.

God, he does look happy there =P. Now then after battling, Sean said bye to his Dad and we went and sat outside. First looking at each others pokemon and he gave me a Shaymin for a Lugia. Yes I know bad deal, but good in my favour. Then we went underground, we both let each other catch each others flags and I laughed how Sean got in some traps of mine. Then it was time to battle. Since it isn't Wi-Fi we could suddenly make our Pokemon Lv 100 so it had to be free, but we allowed only one lv 100. Mine being Breloom and his being Dragonite.

Okay, so Spiritomb was defeated by his Luxray, Luxray got spored by my William (Breloom). Sean switched, bad mistake by the Focus Punch and didn't 1HKO. Dragonite outspeeded Breloom with Aerial Ace. 6-4 to him. I then send out Regice hoping to defend a hit by Dragonite, but Dragonite uses Outrage 1HKOing Regice. Regice faints 6-3 to Sean. It seems like I'm going to loose at this point, but luckily my next pokemon, Heatran defends the Outrage which makes Dragonite confused. The Iron head by Heatran makes Dragonites HP past halfway and to make it worse the Dragonite gets hit by being confused. Two more Iron Heads and one hit by confusion and one Outrage, then Dragonite is out of the game. 5-3 to him still. Heatran then slowly sweeps making a 3-0 victory to me with Heatran having 2hp at the end.

Say Hello! Again =P. Anyway they only came for the code. Now here's the best part those two got their Mum's to work their magic to get us the code without having to preorder D/P. Me and Sean got one too. We also got all this.

Yes, Luke tried to be in the photo and Tom was nice enough to make me take that photo of his stuff. Yes, I'm getting lazier by the minute getting people to give them stuff just cause I'm lazy to get mine out of my bagpack. Inside that is this which is my stuff. I took this photo at home.

Then, I needed a Raikou before I went to lunch, so nice guy, Luke gave me a clone of one, which I can now use in my Trade shop. All I need to do now is get my Mewtwo back of my friend.
