ALK Used Fly!

Still, this has to be the most easiest event to get to, one train ride and a 5 min walk and I was there. Outside the store, they had all sorts of Pokemon posters and decorations to advertise the event, so far so good. Got inside to find the event at the back of the store. About 20-30 people, so it was a good turnout though not anywhere as big as last year. Don't think I saw any PKMN.NET-ers, but everyone I talked to, I ve the site a mention. ;D I'm actually starting to see familiar faces from previous events now. XD

As for things to do, they had DS's to play Diamond, Pearl and the new Mystery Dungeon games (Using those new DS Colours no less), a TV playing Pokemon Toy ads and a trailer to Rise of Darkrai (But no ads for Battle Dimension strangely), Pokemon made out of balloons and another TV for Battle Revolution battles.

And finally of course, the reason everyone was there, Darkrai downloads! Just as we predicted, it was a matter of receiving a Mystery Guy and boom, you get Darkrai. No item or series of events to catch it, just plain old download, which makes me wonder why they bother having the items if we re going to get the event Pokemon the lazy way. From what I understand, goodie Bags were given to the first 50 people at other events, but I saw no one with such things sadly.

So got my hands on 2 Darkrai (One for Diamond, one for Ranch. I got one on Pearl thanks to Mikey). It's OT is Alamos (The name of the town in Rise of Darkrai I think), has a Classic Ribbon, knows Roar of Time, Special Rend, Nightmare and Hypnosis and holds an Enigma Berry.

So I go to get my Darkrai only to discover I was in the middle of an Elite Four battle. To make matter worse, once I finished, my DS gives me the red light treatment, which would mean hardly many battles. So I had one battle on PBR, won and shortly after (At around 13:30) decided to leave. If I had recharged my DS the night before, I may of stayed longer, but I was not going to just stand and watch, and I got what I came for, so back home I went.

In conclusion, not a bad event, if a little small scaled. Hopefully next year, they ll give us the item for catching event Pokemon rather then be lazy, but who knows.
