Japanese wonder magazine CoroCoro has given us a few small pieces of information about the upcoming Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver games! Let's have a quick look:

Confirmation that the credit crunch has hit Prof. Elm hard - your starting Pokémon no longer comes in a free Pokéball. Just look at the little Cyndaquil! =D

Remember that notch-eared Pichu? It has something to do with Ilex Forest. Apparently.

The area images that were in FireRed/LeafGreen are back - here's one from Sprout Tower.

The male character from GSC is back, with a new female counterpart to boot. And for those who are curious, here's the full scan.

Expect more details soon! I'm personally looking forward to the obvious new inclusion of a golden Typhlosion statue being the Pokémon League Champion.

I'm also going to take this opportunity to warn you that only details posted here or at any reputable site should be treated as fact. There is no Johto map released yet. Or any Pokégear information. I promise.

Any idea what console this'll be on? It looks awesome. I know that I enjoyed gold when I last played it. Guess at 3rd gen remake names "LavaRuby, OceanSappire, and ForrestEmerald" (Note: Originaly was gonna say BloodRuby, but...)

In my opinion the female counterpart is really ugly.She has this big balloon hat and has crazy tangled hair coming out of it.
