Old Pokemon to 'sue for discrimination.'
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
When Junichi Masuda's not directing Pokemon games he's blogging about them. Which he has done now and given a suprisnig entry in his latest blog telling the fans that travelers in the world of Isshu will only be able to catch Pokemon of the fith generation pre-National Dex. This is an attempt to give newcomers and seasoned players a fresh experience.
That means good news for those sick of running into Zubats and Tentacools for the nth time. Though the downside is that you won't be able to catch old favorites, such as Wurmple, Miltank and Ledyba.
It remains to be seen how old Pokemon will be caught if it be swarms, safari zones, PokeRader or a new way. We do know however that Pokemon from Gen 4 can be traded over (and by virtue of that, so can Gen 3), but otherwise it's all a mystery right now.
