All 19 pages of this months magazine is chockablock full of new details about Black and White... and it's all dissected right here!
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
August's CoroCoro is officially out! Time to turn it upside down and shake it vigourously until it chokes, turns blue and spits all its details out at us!
The easiest way to deal with this is to take it page by page, so here we go - complete with high quality scans!
Front and Back Page- This shows the front of the previously promised Pokémon Black and White "Master Document".
- Each game will come inside a box that has artwork of Zekrom and Reshiram with illuminations on their tails.
- Depending on your version, the outer box will contain black or white patterns.
- The Victini you capture after obtaining the Liberty Ticket will know the attacks: Incinerate, Endure and Confusion. Incinerate has 15PP and renders any Berries your Opponent(s) are holding unusable by burning them.
- Victini is the Victory Pokemon, a dual Psychic/Fire type, stands 0.4m tall, and weighs 4.0kg. It is #000 in the Isshu PokeDex.
- Victini's Pokédex entry: "It makes limitless energy inside its body. It releases this energy on any Pokemon who touches it."
- The Manaphy distribution for Gen IV is advertised, running from August 14th-September 12th at McDonalds and Nintendo Zones in Japan. It is Level 50, holding a Lansat Berrt and knows Aqua Ring, Water Pulse, Water Sport and Heart Swap.
- Victini is found in the basement of a lighthouse on Liberty Garden Island. You will be investigating an incident on the island and meet Victini in the process. The Liberty Ticket needed for this will be distributed over Wifi in Japan between September 18th and October 18th.
- Swana (スワンナ) - The Swan Pokémon. It is Water/Flying, 1.3m tall and weighs 24.2kg. It has a new attack called Windstorm which changes depending on the weather.
- Gigaiasu (ギガイアス) is the High Pressure Pokemon. It is a Rock type, 1.7m tall and weighs 270.0kg. Its ability is Sturdy, which now prevents ANY move from knocking out the Pokemon in one hit.
- Kurumiru (クルミル) is the Sewing Pokemon. It is Bug/Grass type, 0.3m tall and weighs 2.5kg. Its two abilities are Swarm and Chlorophyll. It has a new attack called Bug Resistance which hits two Pokemon at once.
- Moguryuu (ムグリュー) is the Mole Pokemon. It is Ground- type, 0.3m tall and weighs 8.5kg. Its abilities are Sand Throw or Sand Power, which increases attack power during a Sandstorm. It also has a new attack called Drill Liner.
- Mamambou (ママンボウ) is the Nursing Pokemon. It is Water type, 1.2m tall and 31.6kg. It has the Hydration ability as well or a new one called Healing Heart which cures any teammates of any status conditions.
- Miruhoggu (ミルホッグ) is the Precaution Pokemon. It is Normal type, 1.1m tall and 27.0kg. It is the evolution of Minezumi and has Illuminate or Keen Eye as its two abilities.“It lights up the pattern on its body to threaten its opponents.â€
- Shikijika (ã‚·ã‚ジカ) is the Season Pokemon. It is Normal/Grass type, 0.6m tall and 19.5 kg. Its abilities are Chlorophyll or Herbivore, which raises its attack when it is attacked by a Grass-type attack. Shikijika changes in appearance depending on the season: pink in spring, green in summer, orange in autumn and brown in winter.
- A Season last for one month in the game, meaning the full cycle is repeated three times a year. Different Pokémon appear during different seasons, the colour of the Isshu region changes and new areas will become accessible.
- The PokéShifter is a mini-game which allows you to transfer Pokémon from Gen IV games to Black and White. This is done using two DS's. You select 6 Pokémon to transfer at once and then encounter them in Black and White in a grassy field. Using a sling shot you fire Pokéballs at them.
- The PokéShifter is only available after you defeat the Elite Four.
- Dark green patches of grass contain Wild Double battles.
- You begin in Kanokota Town and leave along with Belle and Cheren. You meet Team Plasma in Karakusa Town.
- Team Plasma: “As humans, what is it that we should do?â€
- As per usual, you still have to collect 8 Gym Badges from around Isshu.
- TMs can now be used multiple times, just like HMs.
- The first Gym Leader is Dento of Sanyo City. You can see his badge on the top left of the scan.
- The second Gym Leader is Aloe of Shippou City. This is a traditional, old city containing a museum incorporated with the Gym.
- In both Gyms, you have to answer quiz questions to battle the leader. For Dento’s Gym, one of them asks about type compatibility, and in Aloe’s Gym, one of them asks “What’s is something that you eat, is warmed in a pan, and is delicious?†Only in Japan...
- Rotation Battles have been further detailed. In another mode, you choose just one of your three active Pokémon to attack each turn. Part of the strategy is predicting which Pokémon your opponent will use and what attack they will attempt. This means alongside the fully-rotating battles and the full 3-vs-3 battles, there are 3 whole new battling methods.
- The Miracle Shooter is a new optional points system for wireless battles. As you battle you earn points which you can exchange for items to use in battle.
- The Battle Subway is a subway (duh) and modern day Battle Tower, in which you participate in up to 7 battles. Winning all the battles earns you Battle Points, which you can exchange for various prizes. There are three battle modes - Single, Double and Multi. In Multi Battles you team up, either with a friend wirelessly or with an in-game character. Each Pokemon you face is Level 50.
- Pokémon Musicals take place in the Musical Hall.
- Fans in the audience may leave you gifts if you impress them enough.
- Costumes and accessories for Pokémon Musicals are stored in the Goods Case.
- Makomo lives in Sanyou City.
- Deru Power is obtained from the Entrance Tree. Dery Power are special abilites you can obtain by taking part in High Link missions. For example, you can earn double the amount of EXP points, or halve the prices of PokéMarts.
- Using the C-Gear, these abilities can be shared with other local players.
- Pokémon you meet in the Dream World can have unusual abilities. For example, you will meet a Vaporeon in the Dream World which has Hydration as its ability.
- Items, such as Berries, which you get in the High Link can be shared or traded with other players. You leave items on the shelves to trade, as seen in the scan.
- Berries ONLY appear in the Dream World. There are no berries growing in the Isshu Region.
- The Global Link will allow you to download new Pokédex and C-Gear covers, as well as new Pokémon Musical songs.
- On the left is a sticker page, containing all the new Pokémon revealed so far.
- "Best Wishes’ are the words used to wish someone who’s going on a journey luck. It is a title packed with expectation about the new adventure towards the Isshu Region."
- "Best Wishes" is so called because not only do the initials also spell out the games (BW), but it also contains a deliberate misspelling of “Isshu†(イッシュ) when spelt in Japanese katakana (ã¹ã‚¹ãƒˆã‚¦ã‚¤ã‚·ãƒ¥). So we're told.
- Anime wise, it is confirmed that Dento and Iris (along with her Kibago) will be joining Ash and Pikachu on their Isshu journey.
... I think I need a lie down.
