Introducing the Wii U!
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
Nintendo have officially revealed their next console at E3, and it will be called the Wii U!
Yeah. Yeah. I know.
As previously speculated, the controller will feature a touch screen. It will also include a microphone, gyroscope, shoulder buttons, and an inner camera, which can be used for automatically creating in-game avatars as well as for supported video chat. Rumours that it also contains a kitchen sink are currently unconfirmed.
The touch screen is a hefty 6.2 inches, while the console itself will be compatible with current Wiimotes.
Excitingly, the touch screen is capable of streaming entire games, meaning players can seamlessly flick between playing the game on their TV and then on the actual remote. No need to argue over the TV anymore! And while Nintendo were still a little unclear on this, it sounds like the Wii U will allow online multiplayer games, and will be more open with regards to downloading content and sharing it with the MyTwitBook crowds.
The Wii U will be released during 2012, although a price point is currently unknown. It will also, as everyone has already guessed, be the first Nintendo console ever to support HD graphics! It was also revealed that Nintendo are working on a new Super Smash Bros. game for both the Wii U and 3DS, which based on past games is likely to feature Generation V Pokémon!
So... deep breath. What do we think?

But in all seriousness, it looks cool. even though I won't be able to afford one until it comes time for its one-upper to be released. Well this is fairly interesting. It looks like a big, white PSP with a touch screen. Further into the future we go! Cool I can't wait to get this. I can not wait till this comes out it's gonna be so cool. I've heard of this long, long ago.
