It's like Ghostbusters 2... apart from not at all.

With the release of the new Monthy CoroCoro Magazine there is usually some tidbits of news that are so minor that there is no point in reporting... well not today.

Amazingly we now have some details about the new Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 games which is more than just "they're going to be sequels that make Gamefreak a mint".

So what's the news? Well thanks to the lovely people at Anime News Network (because none of us know Japanese... a flaw we know about but we can survive the shame of) we now know the following things.

Firstly there will be 300 catchable Pokémon in the Unova region (okay first piece of news is that it's set in Unova... big whoop). Now my Japanese is a bit rusty/non-existant but the scans depict a Psyduck, Eevee, Riolu, Tyranitar and Metagross. Make of that what you will

Secondly, since we are still in Unova (just two years later) not much has changed... or has it? New protagonists (boy and girl), new characters overall but also new gym leaders! Cilan and his ilk appear to have been given the old heave-ho since there is a new water-type leader in town called Shizui (who looks like a bit of a hunk). Also we have a poison gym leader named Homika.

For the first time the third game will NOT be starting from the same town. As such Professor Juniper has yet to be confirmed (probably a cameo) and now there is Professor Akuroma living in Hiougi City (that's CITY not TOWN... so many firsts!). And apparently Hiougu means great-grandfather...

Let's see... what else... oh yes! Ice-type fans rejoice because anti-global warming is happening in the Pokémon world!. For some reason (blame Kyurem) there is now a glacier slowly encroaching on Unova. What does this mean? Well ice caves, more snow, probably some skating puzzles and (hopefully) more places to capture ice-type Pokémon. You can also safely assume that Brycen is still in buisness and that Iris is locked up in her panic room.

The final main news is about Kyurem. As we all assumed from the leaked cover art there are now two new forms of Kyurem each with a signature move. Black Kyruem yields Freeze Shock and White Kyurem will blast you with Ice Burn. Also White Kyruem is 30cm taller than Black Kyurem... but who cares really.

Phew. That's a lot in terms of news! At some point we'll upload the scans so WATCH THIS SPACE

Oh and in terms of release dates. Japan gets this on June 23rd (two months) and we in the PAL and NTSC regions will be waiting until autumn.
