Purugly Opens Up

Watchog is standing in the garden staring at the wall.
Purugly opens the French windows and enters the garden and heads towards the bench.
Purugly: Hey Watchog, could you not sleep either?
Watchog: …
Purugly: Can we talk? Please?
Watchog: …
Purugly: Okay, if you’re not going to respond I hope you don’t mind if I just talk. You’re the only one in this crazy house I can be honest with.
Purugly sits on the bench next to Watchog
Purugly: I just can’t stop thinking about the eviction. Correction, I cannot stop thinking how I am going to be evicted tomorrow.
Watchog: …
Purugly: How do I know? Easily. I’m a horrible horrible Pokémon. No wonder Voltorb chose to take my bags away. I bet there is not one of them sleeping in there that could think of a positive thing to say about me. I deserve it; I have done nothing but treat them all like dirt like the diva I am.
Watchog: …
Purugly: I was not always like this, I mean yes I was always shiny but I used to be so beautiful. When my trainer caught me I was the light of her life. My first trainer that is.
Watchog: …
Purugly: Being a shiny Glameow on the pageant circuit was just the most amazing feeling. She used to give me the finest berries to make sure my coat was extra glossy; I had the best cosmetics and friends… yes I used to have those too. The pageant circuit was pretty cutthroat but since there were five contest types I was made great friends with those I was not competing with. I can honestly say that I have never been happier than back in those days. Hmmm. But then… I evolved.
Purugly begins to tear up
Purugly: I evolved from a glamorous cat into this lump you see before you. Not only did I lose that beauty but my ability changed from Limber to Thick Fat. I was utterly destroyed. I literally lost everything because I could no longer compete. I lost contact with my friends and since I was no longer able to make money, my trainer abandoned me by throwing my Pokéball into a river.
Purugly starts to cry
Purugly: No wonder I’ve grown so bitter, especially when I see other Pokémon like Chingling. She cries a lot but she is such an innocent. *sigh* I guess it’s too late now anyway. I lied when I said I came on this programme to make money – I just wanted to show my old trainer who she threw away and make her regret throwing me into that blasted river. If it wasn’t for Rebecca I have no idea what would have happened to me.
Purugly wipes her tears and looks at the sky
Purugly: It really is a beautiful night tonight isn’t it?
Watchog: …
Purugly: You really don’t talk too much do you? Sorry for unburdening so much onto you so late at night.
Purugly gets up off the bench
Purugly: Thanks for listening. I know I’ll be out tomorrow because of how horrible I’ve been but maybe this experience has been good for me after all.
Purugly kisses Watchog
Purugly: I’m off to bed, enjoy the stars.
