Houndoom | Shedim Named after an italian webcomic character that is a very powerful demon. The comic is a funny D&D parody Sun 03 Jun 2018 08:56:17 UTC by Takula | Johto Name Rater says... It's not Charlotte... Rated: Fri 12 Jul 2019 20:32:11 UTC |
Houndoom | Spot Now, I could've gone for Cerberus, but either way, you still would've ended up with the name Spot. In Greek, it's Κέρβερος, which is Kerberos, who is the hound of Hades, but it also means 'spotted'. So Hades essentially named his dog Spot. And everybody who submitted Cerberus has pretty much submitted the name Spot. Tue 10 Apr 2018 08:34:19 UTC by MirrorEdge | The Name Rater says... You know this much about mythology but you can't see that Houndoom doesn't have spots. Rated: Wed 11 Apr 2018 03:43:40 UTC |
Houndoom | Pyrocanark "Pyro" symbolizes its fire-typing, "can" refers to "canine", which is synonymous with the species this Pokemon is based off of, and "ark" is for "dark" to go along with its Dark-typing. Pyrocanark (Pyro-kayn-ark) essentially means Fire-Dark Dog, which is what Houndour and Houndoom are. Fri 13 May 2016 14:27:45 UTC by mrvelocity0 | The Name Rater says... I think you may be barking up the wrong tree. Rated: Sun 11 Mar 2018 19:58:48 UTC |
Houndoom | Foulander References a quadrupedal monster from FF7. Foul suits its dark type. Name strikes me as that of something that roams expanses, like a plains or savanna animal, but I think it still works for Houndoom. Thu 14 Apr 2016 20:21:12 UTC by BadRapSample | The Name Rater says... Sounds like the name of a land where everyone goes to foul, y'know what I'm saying? Rated: Sun 12 Jun 2016 23:40:35 UTC |
Houndoom | Hellen Well, it's a terrible play on words, Houndoom is based on a hellhound, so I took the name "Helen" and gave it another l, so it was "Hell-en." You could also go with Hades or Cerberus from Greek mythology, but Hades would fit a Giratina more, and Cerberus would fit a Hydregion more. So what are your thoughts, sir? TL;DR- Hell-en. Cause it's based on a hellhound. Thu 14 Apr 2016 18:49:11 UTC by Kawaiiderp | The Name Rater says... You've given me way too many nicknames, my head hurts, your name sucks, piss off. Houndoom | Brimstone Now, I know you're going to insult me for this, but I honestly don't care. Yes, I know Brimstone is the name of many unpopular and rather annoying things, but it also represents power, destruction, and fire. Houndoom is a fire type, as I hope you know. It also has a sort of dark, solemn ring to it. Okay. I've given my reasons, and I'm prepared for your worst. And if Sentret is rating this, hi! Houndoom | Gabriel Well, in some Mythologies, Gabriel is the leader of the Wild Hunt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Hunt). Also in some mythologies, the wild hunt is made up of hellhounds (or hounds that might as well be from hell). Since Houndoom is the hellhound Pokemon, and one of it's Dex entries says that the one with the most sweeping (or something like that) horns is the leader. And perhaps in the Pokemon world, the Wild Hunt would be made up of Houndooms... The feminine version of this name is Gabrielle. Tue 09 Nov 2010 01:50:05 UTC by OpalRhea | The Name Rater says... Gabriel? Oh, you mean like the angel? So you've reduced your Houndoom to some puffy creature who gets seduced by Lynx Deodrant. Rated: Mon 28 Feb 2011 19:20:02 UTC |
